This elegant hotel is a combination of the magnificently restored 18th century cellars of Klaasenbosch wine estate and the splendid Hohenort Manor House. The Cellars Hohenhort Hotel lies adjacent to the world famous Kirstenbosch Botanical Gardens and is minutes away from the Constantia Wine Route. Situated above the Constantia Winelands region and nestled against the densely forested eastern slopes of Table Mountain; this historic hotel affords unsurpassed views of the Constantia Valley and False Bay.

The Hotel celebrates traditional values and gracious living, with the use of antique furnishings and original works of art. In keeping with the enchanting natural surroundings, the recreational facilities include two swimming pools, a tennis court; and a chipping and putting golf green designed by Gary Player. The hotel is set within 9 acres of world renowned landscaped gardens. The private gardens are home to roses, herbaceous borders, herbs, indigenous flora as well as a unique Knot Garden.

Accommodation at the Cellars consists of 53 individually decorated en-suite bedrooms. The Madiba Villa is a 2-storey Cape-style home featuring a large sitting/dining room with fireplace, built in bar, service kitchen and 2 double en-suite bedrooms with walk-in cupboards.

Location and Directions

The Cellars Hohenort Country House Hotel is in the Constantia Valley, which is centrally situated in the Southern Suburbs of Cape Town, east of Hout Bay and north of the southern peninsula. The most popular places to visit are Table Mountain, Cape Point and Robben Island. Within the Constantia Valley explore the Groot Constantia museum and the Constantia Valley wine route, where there are seven of the finest vineyards in South Africa.

To get to Cellars, we recommend you follow the below directions:

Travel on the N2 Highway towards Cape Town, take the turnoff to 'Muizenberg, M3' to the left.

Continue along the M3 past the suburbs of Claremont, Bishop's Court and Wynberg.

Take Exit 14 off the M3 (Constantia/Hout Bay).

Turn left at the intersection, travelling under the bridge.

At the second set of traffic lights, turn right into Brommersvlei Road.

The entrance to the hotel will be on the left, 2.5 km down Brommersvlei Road.
