Shamwari Game Reserve is a five star establishment located in the malaria free region of the Eastern Cape. Home to the Big Five and a variety of wildlife, it is the ideal safari destination as an alternative to the Kruger National Park as the game reserve is a almost a natural extension of the Garden Route and makes for an enjoyable drive from the areas of Knysna and Plettenberg Bay.

• The Longlee Manor: An ancient Edwardian mansion that has a country manor style atmoshphere.
• The Eagles Cragg Lodge: An exlusive private lodge (frequented by celebrities) comprised of 9 individually built rooms with private decks offering sweeping views of the wilderness, plunge pools and is also home to its very own wellness centre, lounge and bar.
• Lobengula Lodge : This lodge is different from other lodges as there is a strong focus on African tradition and ethnicity yet it still encompasses the ultimate in five star luxury.
• Bushmans River Lodge : The Bushmans River Lodge rests on the banks of the Bushman river and really epitomises the word "fully inclusive" as it comes complete with its own chef and game ranger - ideal for groups of friends or family travelling together.
• Riverdene Lodge : The Riverdene Lodge boasts nine luxury twin rooms and a small lounge area in which guests are able to relax and soak up the atmosphere. All rooms are air conditioned and come fully equipped with telephone, TV and elegant en suite bathrooms. The public areas at Riverdene contain a swimming pool, sun deck and a bar. The Bayethe Lodge offers elegant accommodation in the form of 9 air conditioned twin bedded luxury tented suites with outdoor showers, private plunge pools and a deck. HOW TO GET THERE

From Port Elizabeth travel along the N2 towards Grahamstown. Take the Paterson offramp (R342) ad continue until you find the Shamwari sign.
