Accommodation:

Thornybush Game Lodge:
Luxury suites line the banks of the seasonal Monwana River; all suites have spectacular views of the active water hole. Spaciously appointed, each glass fronted suite has mini bar fridge, telephones, in and outdoor showers, air conditioners and generous decks.
Jackalberry game lodge

The towering Drakensberg Mountains provide a majestic backdrop for this 10 bedded rustic camp.

Jackalberry is a 4 star luxury game lodge with spectacular views of the Drakensberg Mountain range.

How to get there
From Johannesburg take the N4 to Witbank, bypass Middelburg and then turn left off the N4 to Belfast.

Proceed to Dullstroom & Lydenburg and take the R36 to Ohrigstad and Strijdom Tunnel follwing the R531/R527 to and through Hoedspruit to the T-junction. Turn right to Klaserie.

After 6 km, turn left into Argyle Road and follow Thornybush signboards to Thornybush Game Reserve.
Shumbalala Lodge:
With 4 suites and 2 superior suites Shumbalala is the ultimate in luxury and exclusivity.

Serondella Lodge:
Serondella offers 3 suites and 1 family suite with 3 rooms, is luxuriously appointed with all suites lining the banks of a dry riverbed.

n'Kaya Lodge:
n'Kaya is set on the crest of a hill. Double suites have two en suite facilities one with bath and one with shower. 4 star property

Chapungu Lodge:
Chapungu lodge comprises of 5 en-suite luxury tents and one suite.



Activities
Morning and evening safaris in open landrovers are conducted by qualified rangers and trackers from all lodges, with walks encouraged for the more adventurous.

Children under the age of 6 are not permitted on safaris or walks. Children between the age of 6 and 12 will be permitted at the sole discretion of lodge management.

Between exciting safaris, while away the moments in the Thornybush Spa.

Your choice may be to experience the gentle attentions of our trained therapists, or perhaps a deep body exfoliating massage will provide ultimate relaxation.

How to get there
By road
Eastbound out of Johannesburg take the N4 to Witbank, bypass Middelburg and then turn left off the N4 to Belfast - proceed to Dullstroom & Lydenburg - R36 to Ohrigstad and Strijdom Tunnel - R531/R527 to and through Hoedspruit to junction.

Turn right, Klaserie direction. After 6 km, turn left into Argyle Road and follow Thornybush signboards to Thornybush Game Reserve.

By air:
South African Express Airways provide daily flights from Cape Town and Johannesburg to Hoedspruit (Eastgate airport).

Road transfers from the local airport in air-conditioned mini buses are available.

How to get there

Stay on the N2 from Cape Town
Pass the following exit:
Hartenbos (Exit 397)

Take the Klein Brakrivier / Little Brak River (Exit 401)
Turn Left at STOP

± 500 m T-junction: Follow our brown Botlierskop signboard with the lion footprint, from this point. Turn Right.

±4km ahead: go over causeway, 200m after causeway, turn Right at our brown Botlierskop signboard, onto the Gannakraal road.

± 4km on Gonnakraal road, see earthdam on right, turn Right after earthdam at white pillar gate: Botlierskop

How to get there
Directions from Port Elizabeth Airport:

Take the N2 from Port Elizabeth towards Grahamstown, at the interchange to Grahamstown continue straight on the N10 towards Cradock then turn right at the signs for Alicedale and follow the road into Alicedale.
